Friend Bear

Its a friend bear for Dai, though I suspect its really for her Dad.

I used a variety of yarns and crochet threads to get everything just right, and I'm pretty happy with it, except for the eyes (someday I'll get those figured out). I'm extremely proud of the shaping of the cheeks, and other details. There is a burgendy heart on the rear/hip, and you can partly see the heart pads on the feet. I crocheted the belly emblem by looking at one of Ari's carebears.

I went through 2 crochet hooks (bent them) in the making because my tension was really tight. I wanted it to be tight so no fluff could escape in anticipation of being chewed on by a 16-month old.

I have been working on this for a looong time, so I'm glad to have finished it. For some reason theres something intimidating about crocheting carebears.
